Quality Audit |Shell ‘Ways of Working’

• Objective

  Improve overall project performance by updating Shell’s refineries Quality System based on the Global Downstream One project governance process: designated “Ways Of Working”.

• 

• Solution

  • Gap Analysis – conducted by local expert engineers to identify gaps with the current global defined processes.
  • Quality System Updates – A quality engineer amended all existing quality documents, adding new mandatory process steps and apply new global terminology.
  • New Processes Implemented – During the analyses and review by the quality engineer, all potential improvements were captured on a new devised change request form. All changes are evaluated by the owner of the quality system and a updating procedures implemented, by processing the newly defined change requests.
  • Support Project Managers – Part of the global project process was the creation of formalized project steps. A new support group with expert engineers was setup to support the Project Managers during execution phase.

• Results

  • Ways of Working Process embedded in QA system– The Global Project Governance is locally implemented and embedded in the local Quality System of each refinery across the world.
