Personal Bio Timo Besamusca

My Personal Background

After completing my Masters Degree in Computer Science, I was the “Last Mohicans” in the Netherlands to serve in the Dutch Military as a conscript. I immediately looked at the opportunities the Army could offer me and I took a job at the Infantry Training Center in a team that managed “command & control” simulators for large scale exercises. Needless to say, I had a fantastic twelve months!

Afterwards, I joined a large systems integrator and started working for large, international clients with a relatively ‘new’ technology, called the Internet. For five years, I worked in some great projects, but also experienced that a project is only as good as it is managed. I quickly learned the virtues and values of good project management, and this was for me one of the most important drives to start qurus. Since then, I developed my own project management skills to manage very diverse and increasingly complex projects in different sectors.

Why qurus?

I’d like to think that qurus stimulates entrepreneurship and professional growth - to me, that is what qurus is all about: it is about quality, about professional ‘craftsmanship’, about delivering the best results for your clients, about improving yourself to improve your clients’ business. To me, this is a very inspiring thought.

My Role

My focus within qurus has been on developing and delivering services related to program-, project- and portfolio management: this can range from delivering a great program manager to managing a complex program for one of our clients. I also enjoy demonstrating new technologies in a workshop on how to effectively using project planning tools to improve the project management maturity of a clients’ Project Management Office. For me, it is always important to hear where a client is coming from, to see how we can help them best.

My Pride and Passion

With the danger of sounding a bit arrogant, I am very proud of being one of the original Founders of qurus. I can honestly say that starting and growing your own company is one of the biggest adventures in my life, and it has taught me so much! There is no better school then your own company to learn more about doing business, the values that drive it, and the human nature it is driven by. Simply, I am very passionate about my work, and the clients I work with.

My family is the very foundation of my life. Without them, I would not have been able to achieve what I have up till now. I would not have been able to talk of my pride and passion for my work and my clients. So to me, they are my biggest pride as well as passion and I am very grateful for that.
