Personal Bio Lucy Kennedy

My Personal Background

I can honestly say that when I completed my Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering in the UK, I could not have predicted that I would find myself as part owner and Managing Director of an international company based in the Netherlands.

After university, I enjoyed six months of travel and then embarked on my working life with Procter & Gamble as a Plant Engineer at their Pringles crisps manufacturing site in Belgium. Over the next eight years, I enjoyed many different and increasingly complex technical assignments developing, installing and starting up new equipment and processes at manufacturing sites all over Western Europe.

Then, when I was 5 months pregnant my husband was offered a great opportunity in the Netherlands, my reaction? – Why not, let's go for it!

Why qurus?

Qurus represented many things such as a family atmosphere, a fast growing organisation and little bureaucracy. Next to this, I saw in qurus aspects that I found hugely stimulating at Procter & Gamble, such as highly professional colleagues and a company open to allowing employees to reinvent themselves by working and gaining knowledge in new areas.

My Role

In July 2010 I had another, "Why not, let's go for it!" moment and became Managing Director. Even though ownership was not a requirement I wanted to be true to the commitment I was making to qurus and to, "make it real" by becoming part owner of the business.

I live and breathe the values of qurus and ensure that myself, my fellow qurians all over the globe, and the company as a whole are constantly working on being the best that we can be. As we improve, we move the goal posts, so that we always deliver our customers the flawless execution and delivery experience that they have come to expect from qurus.

My Pride and Passion

I am very proud of the new life that my family and I have built here in the Netherlands. Moving your home is tough, but the more effort you put in the more you get back. My passion I share with my husband. They are called, Roberto and Tommaso. All of the clichés about the wonders of parenthood are all so true, so I won't go on about them

My Future with Qurus

Since joining qurus in 2007, whatever title or role I have had, I have always been supporting and enabling its growth. In a world of change some things remain constant.
