My Personal Background

Before joining qurus I worked at a large IT firm. I had intended it to be a temporary job, but remained there for 7 years.

While there, I was the financial project administrator responsible for administrating financial projects for numerous clients. A position that also demanded strong interaction and communication with my colleagues. This always presented a challenge given the large number of employees, ongoing re-organization and personnel turnover.

During this period I was enrolled in a higher management course that took all levels of management into consideration. This helped put things into a perspective that eventually enabled me to seek out more dynamic ways to approach my field of endeavour.

Why qurus?

From the start, qurus presented me with the kind of vision and dynamics I had been in search of. Consultancy also offered me a whole new area in which to grow and, at the same time enables me to make a measurable contribution by applying my specific experience to qurus success.

What appeals to me most was the emphasis qurus places on quality as opposed to quantity. The words that best describe qurus are involvement, flexibility, exciting new challenges, fun, dynamics, collegial structure, and natural enthusiasm and motivation. It truly is an inspiring environment to be a part of.

My Assignment

In my current role as Operations Manager I find myself at the heart of qurus. In association with one of the partners I am responsible for managing and monitoring Finance within qurus. This also involves monitoring the overseeing all daily operations and projects in association with the Team Leads. All of this involves checking, identifying and ensuring periodic reports to the management, optimizing a host of company processes and reaching agreements with suppliers.

Moreover I get involved in the HR – process (recruitment & selection). This involvement also extends to furnishing creative in-put that benefits the performance of my colleagues, which in turn translates into greater value for our clients. Functioning in the way I do enables me to better exploit my creative capabilities in a wide range of areas.

My Pride and Passion

My pride and joy are my wife and children. I am very fortunate to have a partner at home that is very flexible. It allows us to get the most enjoyment out of both life at home and at work. The sun definitely shines on our home and is reflected in the faces of all of us. That same sun is also shining on qurus. All you have to do is look at how we've been growing at all levels. It fills all of us with a great sense of accomplishment and pride. Relaxation usually takes the form of soccer matches on Thursdays and tennis during the summer months. I love both and both act to re-charge all of that much-need energy.

My future with Qurus

Given the international arena qurus operates in - the possibilities for personal growth are now infinite. At the same time, because qurus is a totally horizontal organization, partners and employees view themselves as part of a family where mutual respect, positive guidance, support and shared values are held in very high regard.
